Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who we are
Foldeen (“we”, “us”) provides church attendance and discipleship software. This policy explains how we handle personal data. It is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act / NDPR and comparable regimes. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@foldeen.app.
2. Roles: controller and processor
Each church that uses Foldeen is the data controller for the member information it enters (its congregation’s records). Foldeen acts as a data processor, storing and processing that data on the church’s behalf. For account holders (the people who sign in), Foldeen is the controller of their login details.
3. Data we collect
Account data: name, email, and authentication details. Member records entered by churches: names, phone numbers, addresses, dates of birth, gender, attendance history, lesson notes, follow-up notes, prayer requests, and offering records. Uploaded files: church logos and offering proof images. Technical data: basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
4. Sensitive data
Because Foldeen serves churches, some data may reveal religious affiliation, and prayer requests can be personal. Churches should only record what is necessary and mark private requests accordingly. We treat this data as confidential and restrict access to authorised church roles.
5. How we use data
To provide the service (attendance, follow-up, offerings, analytics, communication features), to secure and maintain the platform, and to support you. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use congregation data for advertising.
6. Sharing & sub-processors
We use trusted infrastructure providers to run Foldeen — for example managed hosting and a managed PostgreSQL/authentication/storage provider. WhatsApp follow-ups open in your own device’s WhatsApp using wa.me links; we do not transmit messages on your behalf. We share data with these providers only as needed to run the service.
7. Retention
We retain data while a church’s account is active. Churches can archive members (history is preserved) or request deletion. On account closure we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, individuals may request access, correction, deletion, or export of their data. Congregation members should contact their church (the controller); account holders can contact us directly at hello@foldeen.app.
9. Security
Access is protected by authentication and role-based permissions, data is encrypted in transit, and every record is scoped to its owning church. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected churches of any material breach as required by law.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
